Gluten Free Alcohol List

What Alcohol is Gluten Free?

Finding gluten free alcoholic beverages has become increasingly difficult. From the ongoing debate about distilled alcohol being gluten free or not, to the accidental mix-ups by a bartender, it’s a challenge to find a gluten free alcoholic beverage that works for you and your diet.

In this gluten free alcohol listing, you’ll find beers, hard ciders, vodkas, rums, tequilas and other hard liquors that are gluten free.

Keep in mind that product ingredients and manufacturing processes can change, so it’s always good practice to double-check labels for gluten before consuming anything when you’re out and about.

And for peace of mind, consider keeping GluteGuard on hand to back up your gluten free choices.

Gluten free beer

Gluten free hard cider

If you absolutely HATE beer, then you should definitely try a delicious hard cider. Plus, there are a lot of brands that are gluten free! Just remember that not all hard ciders are gluten free because some brands do use barley for enzymes and flavour, so be sure to read the labels carefully!

Try brands such as:

Gluten free vodka

Gluten free tequila

When tequila is made the traditional way with a blue agave plant it is naturally gluten free. However, there are cheap brands that contain gluten, which are called ‘mixto’. To make sure that your tequila is gluten free, check that the bottle says ‘100% agave’.

Try brands such as:

Gluten free rum

Rum, which is a distilled alcoholic drink made from molasses and sugarcane is generally considered gluten free. The only time you have to worry about whether or not they contain gluten is if a flavor is introduced to the rum. But if you stick with a plain rum, you are usually in the clear.

Try brands such as:

Gluten free gin

Similar to vodka, gin is considered gluten free due to the distillation process, which removes gluten proteins from grain-based spirits. If you prefer to avoid gins made from wheat, rye, and barley, there are gins available on the market derived from other sources like corn, potatoes, and grapes.
