Not a baker? Then pick up a treat
There are always the traditionally gluten free desserts to consider: macarons, pavlovas and mousses – however, always check at your store that they are 100% gluten free. If you’re located in the following cities, we’d recommend checking out the following places for a gluten free treat.
Brisbane
If you’re in Brisbane, you can’t go past Nodo Donuts – pronounced no-dough, they are renowned for their gluten free, baked not fried donuts. We recommend the custom 6 pack so you can split them in half and try multiple flavours with Mum!
Melbourne
For our Melbournite’s make sure you get in early to Kudos Bakery. Their pastry case contains some of the most exotic flavours of canelé, cookies, cake and choux. For the cannoli lovers, you can’t go past Eat Cannoli. They are all gluten free, handmade from scratch and freshly filled. You’ll be spoiled for choice with flavours, or why not just get one of each!

Adelaide
Adelaide’s dedicated gluten free bakery, Just Gluten Free Bakery offers an array of treats to choose from; custard tarts, vanilla slices, chocolate eclairs and their legendary sausage rolls. What’s even better is that they are at the Adelaide Showground Farmers Market every Sunday, so take Mum for an outing to make a day of it and she can choose her own!
Sydney
For gluten free pastries that have won awards over and above glutinous pastries, gluten free Sydney-siders will not be disappointed with anything from Wholegreen Bakery. Coeliac Australia accredited and with cafes available in three locations you can pick up some almond croissants, pain au chocolat or spinach and feta pasties, or simply order online for delivery!
Perth
And for those in Perth, check out the selection at Strange Grains Gluten Free Bakery. There are cookies, muffins, cakes and tarts, but we recommend you make the most of their award-winning bread recipe and get a cinnamon or cheesymite scroll.
Tasmania
Regarded as one of the leading gluten free bakeries in Tasmania Baked Gluten Free serves up artisan-made treats that rival their gluten filled competitors. You can’t go wrong with any of their cream or jam-filled donuts, or mini bundt cakes.
